UFO:
An (apparently) flying object whose nature is unknown; especially those considered to have extraterrestrial origins
[syn: unidentified flying object, UFO, flying saucer]

It's 14:00 hours in the ghetto of Taunton, Somerset. I’m following a lead given to me about a suspicious object flying around the local area. I've setup camp in an outside part of town, (suburbia to some, a sh*tty little car park to me!) in hope to catch a glimpse of this object, this monster, that’s raising so many eyebrows amongst the civilians in this town.

An hour passes by, and nearly all hope is lost, and just when I’m about to pack up my surveillance equipment (pies, drink, camera) I hear a low rumble in the distance. Could it be...

Sure enough, the Rumble gets louder, and into the car park pulls a yellow mysterious vehicle. All 4 wheels firmly rolling on the tarmac, this object certainly isn't flying!

The beast pulls up and rolls to a stop. The reflection of the sun in the 19" Arospeed RSS's temporarily blinds me as I hear the thud from the door.

I take a step back into the shade and am greeted by the pilot of this UFO. John Dicks has owned his Civic for a couple of years now, and during that time it has been through 2 complete transformations!

After sporting minimal body mods in a shade of Kawasaki green last summer (05), John decided that with the rising popularity of the Civic, there were too many people competing for his throne as EG6 King, and wanted to take things well into the 21st Century.

Autovision gladly took on his quest, and aided him into creating one of the most radical civics this side of the pond!

Starting from the front, the S2000 headlights give the Civic an aggressive front end, complemented by the Bomex front bumper (an awesome addition to any EG) which had to be modified to match the wideness of the Feelz Wide-arch kit.

Moving round the car yet more custom and one off modifications had to be made, giving presence to the wide arched Civic. I soon realise that this unidentified object isn't a beast; it’s simply a brilliant piece of automotive art!

Autovision’s incredible skills have made Johns requests look so subtle and factory fitment, that I’m half wondering if this is a prototype EG from Honda back in the day!

I soon come back to reality, when I glance inside Johns car and admire all of the Stereo equipment which has been neatly crafted into the EG. The interior work is certainly no different to the exterior in terms of quality & finish. The dash plays host to an A’pexi VAFC II and a custom centre console which incorporates a 6.5” Veba screen, Alpine head unit & Veba DVD player.

Granted this car isn’t to everybody’s taste, and John is well aware of that. Despite the car being everything he was hoping for, there are a few things which he yearns for that his previous car had.

One of these things was the performance. Most people in the know, will be aware how good the B16 engine is, however, with the additional weight provided by the body kit, larger wheels & I.C.E Install, John finds the once “get up and go” provided by the VTi, has now got up and gone!

John has a solution to this though, and with plans in the near future for a K20 engine transplant, it could well be you that sees the yellow flash of an unidentified flying object...
